Hi marcoulles,
so i guess you have at least a folder called "fr-FR" in your /languages folder.
Is there no "en-GB" folder in /languages ? If not, the english language has been uninstalled. In this case, you need to manually upload the language file to your Joomla installation, optionally, you can additionally translate the language file.

- On your local computer, unzip the extro background slider zip archive you downloaded from our site.
- Rename the file "en-GB.mod_extrobgs.ini" to "fr-FR.mod_extrobgs.ini"
- Optionally, you can now edit the file "fr-FR.mod_extrobgs.ini" and translate it to french, use a UTF8 aware text editor for this. (If you choose not to translate the file, the modules backend will be english, despite the fact that your Joomla backend is french)
- Upload the file "fr-FR.mod_extrobgs.ini" to your Joomla installation to the folder /languages/fr-FR/ , now in the backend you should see the lnaguage strings and not the language keys.

This is what I did.
After reinstalling the module language file was not installed. So I loaded the file manually in English "en" directory and the file translated into French (attached file) in the directory "fr"
But strangely it is still only in English in the "Basic Settings" the rest is in French.
